A South Wales company has donated an incredible 12 body worn video cameras to the Wales Air Ambulance.

The Charity is delighted to have received the gift in kind, which would’ve cost more than £10,000, from M. R. S. Communications.

The company is a key player in radio communications, security improvement and crime prevention.

Carl Duarte of M. R. S. Communications visited the Wales Air Ambulance headquarters in Dafen, Llanelli to deliver the essential communications devices.

As well as supporting the lifesaving crew with medical incidents, the essential equipment will also be valuable in any major incidents.

Carl said: “At M.R.S. Communications, we’re proud to support the Wales Air Ambulance Charity and the vital, lifesaving work they do every day. By donating body worn cameras, we hope to provide practical support that enhances safety, transparency and operational insight for their crews. This partnership reflects our commitment to using technology for good and giving back to organisations that make a real difference to communities across Wales.”

The Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and, if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury.

It is delivered via a unique third sector and public sector partnership. The Wales Air Ambulance Charity relies on public donations to raise the £13 million required every year to keep the helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.

The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.

This advanced critical care includes the ability to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions and conduct minor operations, all at the scene of an incident.

As a pan-Wales service, its dedicated crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency critical care.

Nina Rice, Head of Fundraising High Value Partnerships at the Wales Air Ambulance said: “Wales Air Ambulance are incredibly grateful to M.R.S Communications for their substantial donation to the Charity of 12 body worn video cameras at a cost of more than £10,000 to support the Charity’s lifesaving work and major incident use.

“M.R.S Communications Managing Director, David Horton, desire to support Wales Air Ambulance was rooted in a lifelong admiration for the medical sector, shaped by growing up with a father who served as an anaesthetist at University Hospital of Wales and his mother who worked as a nurse.

“This generous contribution will directly support the Charity’s lifesaving work, and we’re delighted to receive the support of M.R.S Communications, a key player in radio communications, security improvement and crime prevention.”
