About our lifesaving lottery

Every year we need to rely on your support to carry out our mission across Wales. The Lifesaving Lottery is run internally by our in-house lottery department – meaning that your membership comes straight to the charity in order to keep the helicopters flying. By entering the Lifesaving Lottery, you aren’t just donating to a worthwhile cause – you could win a cash prize too!

The draw takes place every Friday – only paid members are entered.

Set up a Direct Debit to guarantee your entry every week and we’ll send you details of your entry in the post. *Each entry cost £1 a week (£5.00 a month once rounded up). This fee guarantees entry into all draws throughout the year and equates to an annual donation of up to £8.00, which is not eligible for Gift Aid.

Our lottery questions

The Wales Air Ambulance Lifesaving Lottery is a weekly draw operated by the Wales Air Ambulance to raise money for us whilst also giving you the chance to win up to £1,000.

This type of lottery does not let you choose your own numbers, you will automatically be allocated a unique lottery number.

We are committed to ensuring that the lottery is operated in a secure, fair and socially responsible way and to endorses responsible gambling amongst its members. Our lottery is run in house, all of the profits from the Lifesaving Lottery goes towards funding the Wales Air Ambulance service.

Provided you have paid at least £1 for every Fridays draw, your unique draw numbers are entered into our electronic draw. The draw randomly generates six-digit numbers and compares them with our members’ draw numbers.

No, you will only get entered into the draw if you have paid.

Every week there is a guaranteed jackpot of £1,000 along with a second prize of £200, a third prize of £100 and 20 prizes of £10.

As of May 2024, players have a 1:6600 chance of winning a prize.

In the year ended 31st July 2024, as a percentage of the total sales, 83% went directly to
the lifesaving service provided by Wales Air Ambulance Charity, 1% was paid in prizes and
16% covered the costs to manage, license and recruit new members to the lottery

Wales Air Ambulance Lifesaving Lottery Ltd is a member of the Lotteries Council and committed to promoting a responsible approach to gambling.

Players must be aged 18 or over.
It is illegal for individuals under the age of 18 to enter into a lottery or claim a prize.

All net proceeds from the lottery are donated to Wales Air Ambulance Charity, who require £11.2m a year to ensure the continuation of the service. In the year ended 31st July 2024, as a percentage of the total sales, 83% went directly to the lifesaving service provided by Wales Air Ambulance Charity, 1% was paid in prizes and 16% covered the costs to manage, license and recruit new members to the lottery.
Every week there is a guaranteed jackpot of £1,000 along with a second prize of £200, a third prize of £100 and 20 prizes of £10 all allocated to winning numbers drawn by a random number generator, as long as the player has paid to enter that particular draw.  Players currently have a 1:6600 chance of winning a prize.
