About our lifesaving lottery
Every year we need to rely on your support to carry out our mission across Wales. The Lifesaving Lottery is run internally by our in-house lottery department – meaning that your membership comes straight to the charity in order to keep the helicopters flying. By entering the Lifesaving Lottery, you aren’t just donating to a worthwhile cause – you could win a cash prize too!

What is the Lifesaving Lottery?
The Wales Air Ambulance Lifesaving Lottery is a weekly draw operated by the Wales Air Ambulance to raise money for us whilst also giving you the chance to win up to £1,000.i
Do I get to choose my own numbers?
This type of lottery does not let you choose your own numbers, you will automatically be allocated a unique lottery number.c

How is the lottery regulated?

Will you pass on my details to anybody else?
At no point will Wales Air Ambulance pass on your personal information on to any third party, only when obliged to do so by legislation at that time in force and the only with the express authority of the Chief Executive. For more information see our privacy policy.
Where do the profits go?
Our lottery is run in house, all of the profits from the Lifesaving Lottery goes towards funding the Wales Air Ambulance service.
How does the draw work?
Provided you have paid at least £1 for every Fridays draw, your unique draw numbers are entered into our electronic draw. The draw randomly generates six-digit numbers and compares them with our members’ draw numbers.
Will I ever owe the Lifesaving Lottery money?
No, you will only get entered into the draw if you have paid.
What can I win?
Every week there is a guaranteed jackpot of £1,000 along with a second prize of £200, a third prize of £100 and 20 prizes of £10.
Why is my monthly payment £4.34?
The lottery costs £1 a week to play. While most months consist of 4 weeks, on occasion some consist of 5 weeks. The extra £0.34 a month covers the months that have an extra week.

What are my chances of winning?
As of May 2024, players have a 1:6600 chance of winning a prize.
What percentage of lottery income is spent on the lifesaving service?
In the year ended 31st July 2023, as a percentage of the total sales, 78% went directly to the lifesaving service provided by Wales Air Ambulance Charity, 1% was paid in prizes and 21% covered the costs to manage, license and recruit new members to the lottery
