Do you enjoy using social media? Sharing your birthday, anniversary or remembering a loved one with Wales Air Ambulance is a wonderful way to save lives – and you can do it all through social media.
Getting Started
Facebook has made it simple and easy to raise funds through your page:
- Visit the Facebook Fundraisers Page here.
- Search and select Welsh Air Ambulance Charitable Trust.
- Choose your fundraising target based on how much you would like to raise and give your fundraiser a title
- Fill in why you are raising money for us (Facebook will also provide you with some suggestions).
- Choose and end date for your fundraiser
- A pre-filled image will be populated but you can adapt this by uploading your own.
- Press create and your page will ready to share.
- Then, watch as your friends on Facebook visit your page and make donations.

We purely on public donations to raise £11.2 million every year to keep our helicopters flying and our fleet of cars on the roads. Every donation, big or small, is vital.
Thanks to generous fundraisers like you, we can:
- Respond to emergencies 24/7. Our crews are on standby 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide lifesaving, advanced critical care across Wales.
- Deliver a pan-Wales Service. The dedicated crews will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care.
- Deliver hospital-level care on scene. The highly skilled crew on board can carry out medical procedures which would usually only be available within a hospital setting.
- Keep our fleet operational. We need to raise £11.2 million every year to keep our helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.
- Reunite families. Every day that our patients spend with their loved ones is thanks to your support.

What is Facebook Charitable Giving?
Facebook launched its UK charitable giving tools back in November 2017.
The functionality allows people to donate to their chosen charity or start a fundraising page, directly through Facebook.
One of the benefits of this is that it allows people to donate directly to their chosen charity without having to go to a third-party website.
How do I share my Facebook fundraiser?
From your Wales Air Ambulance Fundraising Page, you are able to share either the whole page, a specific donation or a specific post to Facebook.
- To share the whole page, click the blue Share page button, followed by the Facebook icon.
- To share a post or donation, click the pink Share icon in the bottom right corner followed by the Facebook icon.
How can I donate to Wales Air Ambulance through Facebook?
There are several ways to donate on Facebook.
From our Facebook page:
- Click Donate below the Page’s cover photo.
- Click the amount you’d like to give or enter an amount.
- Select a payment method.
- Click Donate [Amount].
From a post published on our page or shared by someone who donated:
- Click Donate on the post.
- Click the amount you’d like to give or enter an amount.
- Select a payment method.
- Read the Gift Aid statement and Gift Aid your donation if applicable.
- Click Donate [Amount].
From a Facebook Fundraiser:
- Click Donate at the top of the fundraiser.
- Click the amount you’d like to give or enter an amount.
- Select a payment method.
- Read the Gift Aid statement and Gift Aid your donation if applicable.
- Click Donate [Amount].
How can I find my Facebook Fundraiser?
Click Fundraisers in the left menu of your News Feed on Facebook. You may need to expand the menu to find it.
