Members of North Wales Trail Riders Fellowship (TRF) have once again supported the Wales Air Ambulance by raising over £2,280 this year from trail riding get-togethers, bringing their total support for the charity to an incredible £8,500.
Since 2022 the group wanted to fundraise for the Wales Air Ambulance due to the fact their sport is dangerous and many of them ride road motorbikes. Many members also have friends that have needed the service in the past.
Members of North Wales TRF had the pleasure of a base visit to Caernarfon Airport where they presented Debra Sima, Wales Air Ambulance’s Regional Fundraising Manager, the medics and pilot Jon Earp.
The Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury.
It is delivered via a unique Third Sector and Public Sector partnership.
The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.
As a pan-Wales service, the dedicated air ambulance crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care.
Debra Sima, The Charity’s Regional Fundraising Manager for North East Wales, said: “A huge thank you to all the organisers and riders who took part in the fundraising events throughout the year and raised a fantastic £2,285. Since 2022 they have raised £8,500, which is amazing. We are extremely grateful that members of the North Wales branch of TFP have continued to fundraise for us again for another year.
“The Wales Air Ambulance Charity needs to raise £13 million every year to keep its helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road. Fundraisers, like the ones that North Wales branch of Trail Riders Fellowship organise, are key to the service’s survival.
“Thank you so much, your fundraising will help us to be there for the people of Wales when they need us most. You have all played a part in saving lives across the country.”
