Dedicated staff at Llanina Arms, in Llanarth have raised an incredible £4,000 for an all Wales lifesaving Charity.
The employees from the hospitality venue in Ceredigion run the popular weekly bingo nights, which attracts a full house.
The bingo sessions and raffles, which are run throughout the year, are led by employee Michelle Keward.
The bingo nights are held every Thursday, doors open at 6:30pm and eyes are down at 7pm.
This year, they have raised an very impressive £4,000 which brings their overall fundraising for the Wales Air Ambulance to an amazing £7,100.
Mike May, Regional Fundraising Manager for the Wales Air Ambulance was delighted to recently meet Michelle and guests during the cheque presentation.
Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and, if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury.
It is delivered via a unique third sector and public sector partnership. The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.
This advanced critical care includes the ability to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions and conduct minor operations, all at the scene of an incident.
As a pan-Wales service, its dedicated crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency critical care.
The Charity’s Mike May said: “A huge thank you to everyone at Llanina Arms, who have worked hard throughout the year to raise an incredible £4,000 for our all-Wales Charity. In total the hospitality venue and its regular bingo players have raised £7,100 for our lifesaving service. “The Wales Air Ambulance needs to raise £11.2 million every year to keep our helicopters in the air and our rapid response vehicles on the road. Without fundraisers, like these bingo nights, we wouldn’t be able to provide our lifesaving service. Thank you to Michelle and everyone who has helped make the bingo games a huge success. You’ve all played a part in saving lives across Wales.”
