A young farmers club has raised £2,000 for a lifesaving all-Wales Charity through an auction of promises.
Whitford Young Farmers Club hosted the successful auction of promises and dance fundraiser in support of the Wales Air Ambulance. The well supported event had a variety of prizes for all ages.
As part of the farming community, the young farmers club in Flintshire, wanted to raise funds for the Charity because they ‘know people who have needed the help of the lifesaving service’ and they are also ‘grateful for the work the Charity does’.
The club’s members recently visited the Charity’s Caernarfon airbase, where they presented the Wales Air Ambulance with the £2,000 that was raised on the night.
The Wales Air Ambulance service is a consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatment to patients and, if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury. It is delivered through a unique partnership between the third sector and public sector.
The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.
This advanced critical care includes the ability to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions and conduct minor operations, all at the scene of an incident.
As a pan-Wales service, its dedicated crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care.

You’ve raised an incredible £2,000 for our lifesaving Charity and you should be proud of your fundraising.
“The Wales Air Ambulance relies on public donations to raise £13 million every year to keep our helicopters in the air and our rapid response vehicles on the road. Fundraisers, like this one, will help us to continue to be there for the people of Wales when they need us most.
“A huge thank you to Whitford Young Farmers Club and everyone who played a part in the auction of promises, whether that was donating a prize, organising the fundraiser or bidding. You’ve all helped raise £2,000, which is amazing.”
