Wales Air Ambulance has been presented with a cheque for an incredible £2,950 following a much-loved annual Santa Tractor event.
This was the second year thar the Llanybydder and Rhydcymerau Santa’s Tractor Run has raised funds for the lifesaving charity.
In 2023 they fundraised £900 for the Wales Air Ambulance.
As well as the popular illuminate tractor run, which was enjoyed by people of all ages, a successful auction and raffle was held at the rugby club in Llanybydder.
Recently the team who organised the event, invited Wales Air Ambulance representatives Alan Jenkins and Lloyd Jenkins to Llanybydder RFC, where they were presented with the cheque of £2,950.
During the cheque presentation past patient Lloyd shared his experience of needing the Wales Air Ambulance.
Alan Jenkins, who thanked the team on behalf of the Charity, explained how much it costs to keep the air ambulance service flying each year and the importance of the charitable donations from the community.
Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and, if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury. It is delivered via a unique third sector and public-sector partnership.
The Wales Air Ambulance Charity relies on public donations to raise the £13 million required every year to keep the helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.
The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.
This advanced critical care includes the ability to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions and conduct minor operations, all at the scene of an incident.
As a pan-Wales service, its dedicated crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care.

“This is the second time that Llanybydder and Rhydcymerau Santa’s Tractor Run has raised funds for our all-Wales lifesaving service. In total the much-loved annual event has raised £3,850. It is a wonderful community event, and we were delighted to be chosen as the beneficiary.
“Through fundraisers like this we can continue to be there for the people of Wales, whenever and wherever they need us. Every pound raised helps save lives!”
