A successful bucket by collection Rhos-on-Sea Rotary Club has raised a wonderful £450 for Wales’ lifesaving Charity.

After previously visiting the Wales Air Ambulance’s airbase in Caernarfon members of the Rhos-on-Sea Rotary Club decided they wanted to fundraise for the Charity.

They arranged a bucket collection at their local Tesco in Llandudno Junction and raised much-needed funds for the Charity. This is the third time the rotary club has fundraised for the Wales Air Ambulance and in total they’ve raised £1,900.

John Tristram, Rhos-on-Sea Rotary Club, Club President, said: “We are delighted to support Wales Air Ambulance, who do such a fantastic job saving lives in often difficult and remote locations.”

Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and, if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury. For the patient, this can mean hours saved when compared to standard care and is proven to greatly improve survival and early recovery.

It is delivered via a unique Third Sector and Public Sector partnership. The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.

The club would like to thank Tesco Llandudno Junction for its continued support in making collections like this possible.

Elaine Orr, Regional Fundraising Manager for the Wales Air Ambulance,  said: “A huge thank you to the members of Rhos-on-Sea Rotary Club, who gave up their spare time to raise funds for our lifesaving Charity. Every year the Wales Air Ambulance needs to raise £11.2 million each year to keep its helicopters in the air and its rapid response vehicles on the road. “Every donation that is made to the Charity enables us to continue our hard work in making sure this lifesaving service is available to the people of Wales when they need us most. Thank you to everyone who made a donation to the bucket collection. It is really appreciated. You have all played a part in saving lives across our country.”
