Walk Wales with James Hook this weekend (06/06/26)

5 minute read

Would you like to ‘walk Wales’ with ex-international rugby legend James Hook, if so, there’s still time to tie those laces and put on your walking boots and join him this weekend!

Last year walkers were invited to take part in ‘Walk Wales with James Hook’ which was a huge success.

As the Wales Air Ambulance marks its 25th anniversary year the Charity is delighted its ambassador James is once again supporting its annual Walk Wales fundraiser.

This weekend James will once again walk along the Gower peninsula, with supporters of the lifesaving charity.

Walk Wales with James Hook, which will take place on Saturday, 6 June, will see walkers taking on either 22 miles from Rhossili to Langland; 10 miles from Oxwich to Langland or the shorter 3-mile route from Caswell to Langland.

There will be transport provided by Transport for Wales from the finish line to Oxwich and Rhossili.

Wales Air Ambulance must raise £13 million each year to keep its helicopters in the sky and rapid response vehicles on the road and fundraisers like Walk Wales with James Hook are vital in helping the Charity reach its annual target.

Gail Windley, Wales Air Ambulance’s Events and Partnerships Fundraiser, said: “We are delighted that our ambassador James Hook is joining us again this year and we’re excited about this weekend’s walk.

“This fundraiser is wonderful way for our supporters to help us celebrate our 25th anniversary whilst meeting a rugby legend. If you want to play a part in helping save lives across Wales, put on those walking shoes and Walk Wales with James Hook this weekend! It is a fundraiser not to be missed.”

Entry for Walk Wales with James Hook is £20 and participants will receive a medal.
