Noah Freeman story

1 minute read

Shaylynn’s life was turned upside down when the mum-to-be went into labour 13 weeks early. Baby Noah was born prematurely at the Special Care Baby Unit in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in 2016, where he urgently needed lifesaving treatment.

When doctors decided Noah was stable enough to be transferred to a baby unit near the family home in Carmarthen, they knew he faced a long and daunting trip by road.

Wales Air Ambulance was able to spare little Noah, weighing just 21b 12oz, the ordeal of a four-hour road journey. During a 49-minute flight between hospitals, Noah was kept warm and safe in our advanced, oxygenated flight incubator.

Everyone was amazing and made us feel really comfortable. The hospital and air ambulance teams worked closely together and knew exactly how to look after Noah. It was so reassuring to get him closer to home.
