Volunteer for Wales Air Ambulance

Our volunteers are an integral part of the Wales Air Ambulance; they provide additional knowledge, skills and ongoing help that supports the Charity across our functions, whether attending fundraising events in the community, helping in our shops or acting as Trustees.

We would not be able to provide our lifesaving services without our volunteers and we trust that you will enjoy your time with us in whatever capacity that you can help with.

Volunteering is a very personal experience. Someone once said, “volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart”.

We’ve all got it in us to help others, but not every type of volunteering suits every type of person.

We at Wales Air Ambulance are keen to match all our potential volunteers with the most suitable vacancies.

While all vacancies might not be available in your area, we believe we have a position for every personality. Which one best suits yours?

Confident and outgoing

There are plenty of roles that might suit you, but community and fund-raising might be right up your alley. This is a varied role, which includes attending events, including shows and carnivals.

Volunteers also help with vital bucket collections and events such as cheque presentations.

Our team is also invited to give short presentations on the work of the charity, and for those who are up for anything, why not take the opportunity to don a mascot costume and help raise funds?

Great team worker with excellent communication skills

An opportunity that might be perfect for you is the role of van assistant.

We’re looking for a great team worker, who is both courteous and respectful, who will enjoy supporting the smooth running of the collection and delivery service.

You would deliver and collect donated stock, move stock around our shops and help out in the depot as required.

Ideally you would be able to use a smartphone and be good at route planning.

Flexible and adaptable

This is a role that’s suitable for people in the Swansea area, as it’s based in our busy retail site in Cwmdu.

You will be volunteering at our warehouse there.

A busy role, you will be helping customers who have donated items, and sorting those items into various categories.

You will be taught to use the computer system for Gift Aid donations, and will also be asked to carry out basic manual tasks.

Methodical and highly organised

This role is ideal if you are conscientious, with a good attention to detail.

You will be supporting the office with administrative tasks and data entry, and could be creating spreadsheets and reports.

You also might be mailing letters and correspondence and carrying out other general office duties.

Ideally you would be keen to learn, but also be honest and reliable, with an ability to work in a diverse team of staff and volunteers.

If you’re unsure which role might suit you, look at all the options here, and then check out our vacancies here (link to vacancies page).
