If you're looking for the chance to meet new people or to work with your local community becoming a fundraising volunteer could be perfect for you.

There are many ways in which you can be involved whether independently or at charity-organised events. You can choose the elements of the role which are best suited to your skills and availability. Here are some of the ways you could become a brand ambassador for us:

  • Bucket collections - Manage and take part in WAA bucket collections at local events, businesses or supermarkets.
  • Provide talks - If you are a confident speaker you could have the opportunity to visit local schools, groups or businesses to raise awareness and funds for us.
  • Cheque presentations - Attend cheque presentations as a brand ambassador for the charity.
  • Collect charity boxes - volunteers can be responsible for boxes in their local area and will be able to collect and replace full boxes as well as seeking out new locations to raise funds.
  • Promote volunteering opportunities and campaigns through speaking to members of the public.
  • Support the fundraising team with local Charity of the year partnerships.
  • Plan your own fundraising events.
  • Attending events to help on stalls selling merchandise, promoting the lottery or our key messages.
What can we offer you?
  • A warm WAA welcome and relevant training
  • Continuous support, and engagement from your community coordinator.
  • Flexibility, we appreciate any time you are able to offer.
  • Travel expenses
  • A sense of pride knowing that you are helping to save somebody's life by donating your time.
