Volunteer for Wales Air AmbulanceOur volunteers are an integral part of the Wales Air Ambulance; they provide additional knowledge, skills and ongoing help that supports the Charity across our functions, whether attending fundraising events in the community, helping in our shops or acting as Trustees. We would not be able to provide our lifesaving services without our volunteers and we trust that you will enjoy your time with us in whatever capacity that you can help with. . . . "Our volunteers are the backbone and the heart of our Charity, they help us to achieve our goals and they are fundamental in raising the funds which enable us to save lives across Wales. We are proud to work with a diverse team of volunteers who bring a range of skills and experience and who support us to carry out our vital work. We hope that you will find your time with us to be enjoyable and rewarding, and that you will feel part of our committed team." . . . These difficult times bring home to us the need to give a massive vote of thanks to those who help us in our daily lives. From the doctors and nurses who put their own lives on the line, to the supermarket workers and bus drivers who allow us to live a semblance of normality: they are all heroes. In this charity we have our own band of heroes. Not just the fantastic crews and backroom staff who keep Wales Air Ambulance’s vital lifesaving missions operating, but also our amazing volunteers. Each week, hundreds of people from all backgrounds give their time freely so that our helicopter medics can provide critical care in patients’ darkest hours. They carry out diverse roles – from helping out in our shops or warehouse to collecting and fundraising at vital events. What unites them is a desire to change the course of a fellow human’s life for the better. Put simply, without our hundreds of volunteers we wouldn’t be the Wales Air Ambulance. They are unique and irreplaceable. So, please spare a thought for our volunteers – and the small army of people who give their time to other worthy causes. You can send them a message of thanks on social media using the hashtag #volunteersweek. Just remember… not all superheroes wear capes.
