The community of a Mid Wales holiday park have held a host of fundraising events in aid of Wales Air Ambulance, raising more than £1000.

The Fir View Tan Y Ffridd Holiday Home Park is located in the picturesque county of Powys near Llangyniew, on the outskirts of Welshpool.

Park owners Judy Weight and Charmaine Sheehan, along with residents of the park, spent their summer fundraising tirelessly for the helicopter charity, holding a variety of events including a car-boot sale, raffle and tombola. They also organise a bonus ball competition which runs all year round.

The total raised from their efforts reached an impressive £1100, which was presented to members of the Wales Air Ambulance crew at the Welshpool airbase by Judy and Charmaine.

WAA Mid Wales fundraising manager Anna Evans said: “We’re so grateful for the fantastic support from everyone at Fir View Tan Y Ffridd, who spent their summer holidays dedicated to raising funds to keep Wales Air Ambulance flying.

“It’s a great example of the many, creative ways people can get involved with the charity and have an enormous amount of fun at the same time.”
