What if I give through Gift Aid to other charities? Expand That is great, any donation you make can be Gift Aided if you are a UK taxpayer. As long as you tick the Gift Aid declaration for each charity and ensure that you pay enough tax to cover them - If you are unsure call feel free to call 0300 0152 999.
Do I have to make a declaration for every donation? Expand No, once your form has been completed and returned you won't have to do another one for us. However if your tax status changes please let us know by calling 0300 0152 999.
Am I committing myself to donate every month? Expand No, by signing a Gift Aid form you do not need to give every month, but should you choose to make a donation in the future you will be covered by the declaration.
Are there any hidden charges? Expand There are no hidden charges. Gift Aid is taken from tax you have already paid, so there is no charge to you, neither does it affect your tax status.
Are you a higher rate tax payer? Expand If you pay tax at a rate of 40% or above, you can claim the difference between the higher and basic rate on your donation. Do this: through your Self Assessment tax return by asking HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to amend your tax code
How much will my donation be worth? Expand For every donation you give, we receive 25% extra from the government. So if you donate £10, we can receive an extra £2.50 making the donation worth £12.50 with no extra cost to yourself. This also counts for donations that you have made in the past, up to four years ago.
