Pembrokeshire’s residents and visitors have braved the elements in aid of Wales Air Ambulance Charity by completing the Saundersfoot New Year’s Day swim.

One of the families were photographed just before their refreshing dip, they include Hayden Johns and daughter Ava along with Simon Lewis, Jason Hitchin, his wife Sarah and daughter Ella. Together with many other frozen fundraisers they braved the plunging January temperatures to raise an impressive £1,350 for the Wales Air Ambulance Charity.

They decided to support Wales Air Ambulance after Jason was involved in a motorcycle accident in July which the Wales Air Ambulance attended.

WAA community coordinator Tony Key said: “We really are grateful to the family and their friends for choosing to raise money for Wales Air Ambulance. The water looked freezing on the day and we do hope they’ve all warmed up since.

“Their efforts will help keep our four helicopters flying lifesaving missions across Wales”.
