The Narberth and Whitland Rotary Grand Charity Concert will return to the stage next month with top Welsh classical crossover singers Richard and Adam.

The autumn Grand Charity Concert was originally due to take place in October 2020 but has been rearranged for Saturday, 9 October at the Follies Theatre, Folly Farm.

The concert will include special guests - Whitland Male Choir and the winners of the Rotary Pembrokeshire Young Musician Competition.

Richard and Adam made it to the final of the 2013 Britain’s Got Talent, where they performed their classical crossover version of ‘The Impossible Dream’.

The show established them as two of the greatest vocalists singing opera in this country.

They credit their ‘Nan’ as being their biggest influence. When they were young, she played music by Enrico Caruso, Mario Lanza and The Three Tenors and she encouraged them to sing along, building their confidence and encouraging them to follow an opera career.

John Hughes, Fundraising Committee Chairman of Narberth and Whitland Rotary, said: “We are delighted that our concert this year is in aid of The Wales Air Ambulance as it celebrates its 20th year. We are all looking forward to what promises to be a memorable evening and we look forward to seeing you all there.”

In December 2020, the Charity achieved its aim of operating a 24/7 service. Wales now has access to the service’s Emergency Department-standard critical care around the clock and to keep the helicopters in the air, the Charity needs to raise £8 million every year.

Katie Macro, Fundraising community coordinator, said: “I’m delighted that the Grand Charity Concert, which was rescheduled from last year, will take place next month. The audience will be treated to classical music from crossover singers Richard and Adam, whilst also enjoying a variety of local talent. It sounds like a fantastic line-up.

“Thank you to Narberth and Whitland Rotary for raising funds for the Wales Air Ambulance Charity. The Charity regularly attends life and limb-threatening emergencies in the Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire area. Charity events, like this, raise vital funds to ensure our important service can continue to take the emergency department to the patient, saving time and saving lives.”
