A Llanelli golf club has helped raise over £2,000 for Wales Air Ambulance after holding a special event.

Members of the Machynys Golf Course raised an incredible £2,228 for the helicopter charity during a captains’ day event in June.

Ladies team captain Angela Connor said: “We are so pleased to be able to raise this money for such a worthy cause. Our captains’ day proved very popular and we look forward to continuing our fundraising efforts for the charity over the coming year.”

During a visit to the Charity’s South Wales Airbase in Dafen, Men’s team captain Bob Connor, alongside ladies team Captain Angela Connor and various other team members, presented a cheque to Wales Air Ambulance.

Wales Air Ambulance community coordinator Steffan Anderson-Thomas said: “We would like to thank Bob, Angela and the team at Machynys for this incredibly generous donation. With each mission costing on average £1,500, this money will help us to continue our lifesaving work all over Wales."
