Jayne and Dylan Andrew tied the knot and raised vital funds for the lifesaving Charity.

On the most special day of their lives, the generous couple, Jayne and Dylan Andrew, decided to raise funds for the Wales Air Ambulance Charity.

The couple from Mid Wales got engaged back in 2018.

After postponing their wedding three times due to Covid-19 restrictions, Jayne and Dylan finally tied the knot in front of their loved ones in August 2022.

The wedding was held in Llandyssil Church, followed by a reception at Jayne’s family farm in Abermule.

Instead of a gift registry, the couple selflessly chose to raise money for Wales Air Ambulance and asked family and friends to make a donation to the lifesaving charity.

The married couple have fortunately never needed the service but know how vital it is to the people of Wales.

Jayne said: “We decided to support Wales Air Ambulance as we live in a rural area with a young family. We have both participated in competitive sports in the past such as rugby, motorsports, horse riding and triathlons. Thankfully neither of us has ever had to use the resource however, with our family growing we wanted to support the charity to ensure its accessible in the future.”

To spend more time with family and friends, the couple carried on the celebrations across the weekend. Jayne continued to say: “A charity luncheon and promise auction was held to extend the weekend. Family and friends generously supported us to raise money for the wonderful charity.”

The support the couple received exceeded expectations and they raised a staggering £5,520.

Jane Griffiths, Wales Air Ambulance’s Community Fundraising Manager, said: “Firstly, I’d like to pass on my congratulations to Jayne and Dylan on tying the knot.

“As a Charity, we are extremely grateful that they chose to support us on the most special day of their lives. We would like to thank everyone who contributed and a special thank you to Jayne and Dylan for their selfless act.

“Every donation helps to keep our service running, enabling us to serve the people of Wales and save lives.”

There are several ways that the public can continue support the Wales Air Ambulance. These include online donations, signing up to the Charity’s Lifesaving Lottery or by coming up with their own innovative ways to fundraise at home. Further information can be found via www.walesairambulance.com
