A successful fundraising concert held by a North Wales choir has raised over £800 for the Wales Air Ambulance Charity.

Côr Seiriol pulled out all the stops for the audience during their concert at Eglwys y Santes Fair, Caernarfon. Guest singers included Gwasanaeth Cerdd Ysgolion Gwynedd a Môn, and soloist Alis Tomos.

The Wales Air Ambulance operates 24/7 throughout Wales, the Charity needs to raise £11.2 million every year to keep the helicopters flying and its rapid response vehicles on the road.

It was the first time that Côr Seiriol has fundraised for the lifesaving Charity. Their previous concerts have raised funds for a variety of good causes over the years, including Alaw Ward, Save the Children, Bangor Food Bank and Christian Aid.

A delighted Musical Director, Gwennant Pyrs said: “We were overwhelmed by the generosity of those who attended the concert.

“The role of the Wales Air Ambulance is very important in Wales, and personally for me having had experience of benefitting from the service as a family.”

Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury.

It is delivered via a unique Third Sector and Public Sector partnership. The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the charity’s vehicles.

Mark Stevens, Head of Fundraising for the Wales Air Ambulance, said: “A huge thank you to the members of Côr Seiriol who once again held a successful concert in aid of a good cause. Thank you for choosing the Wales Air Ambulance to benefit from this year’s concert. You raised an incredible amount of over £800.

“This concert has played a vital role in raising much-needed funds to maintain our lifesaving service across Wales.”
