South Wales Seniors Classic have once again come up trumps and raised £8,000 for Wales Air Ambulance during a classic golf challenge.

The group has been raising money for the helicopter charity since 2004 and their latest effort takes the grand total raised to over £80,000.

A cheque was presented to Wales Air Ambulance Community Coordinator, Steffan Anderson-Thomas during an evening ceremony at the Grove Golf Club, Porthcawl on Thursday, September 13.

The event was attended by members of the SWSC, along with the winning team and members of the committee.

The winners at this year’s competition were Carmarthen A, with Pontardawe A as runners up. Haverfordwest A were also the lucky winners of the Bowl with Pontypridd A as runners up.

Steffan Anderson Thomas said: “We are absolutely thrilled and honored to receive another fantastic donation from the SWSC. Over the years, their support has helped us to carry out more than 50 lifesaving missions.

“We would like to thank all the clubs who have kindly given up their courses during the event, and a special thanks to all the sponsors who have donated towards the prizes”.
