Haven Welsh holiday parks have raised an incredible £38,000 for the Wales Air Ambulance.

The parks; Haven’s Greenacres, Hafan y Mor, Presthaven, Kiln Park, Lydstep Beach, Penally Court and Quay West all participated in a remarkable initiative whereby a portion of the sale from each carrier bag sold in the on-site mini markets is put to the side and donated at the end of the year.

This donation has demonstrated Haven’s commitment to community welfare and emergency services.

Wales Air Ambulance relies on public donations to raise the £11.2 million required every year to keep the helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.

Colin Archibald, West Operations Director at Haven, said: “The Wales Air Ambulance Service plays a crucial role in emergency response, and we are proud to contribute to their ongoing efforts to save lives.”

Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and, if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury. For the patient, this can mean hours saved when compared to standard care and is proven to greatly improve survival and early recovery.

It is delivered via a unique Third Sector and Public Sector partnership. The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.

Wales Air Ambulance’s Supporter Engagement Manager, Hannah Bartlett said: “We are delighted that Haven Welsh holiday parks have raised an incredible £38,178 for our lifesaving Charity. The money will go towards ensuring that our 24/7 service will continue to be there for the people of Wales when they need us most. Everyone who bought a carrier bag throughout the year has played their part in helping to save lives across the country. Thank you so much.”
