There are three main ways to leave a legacy to a charity:

  1. A specific legacy, which is a particular item left to the charity such as a piece of jewellery or shares.

  1. A residuary legacy is what remains once all gifts have been handed out. You can leave a share of what is left or the whole amount.

  1. A pecuniary legacy is when you leave a set amount of money.
