Wales Air Ambulance is appealing for supporters in the Bangor area to donate their time in support of the charity, to help raise lifesaving donations in their shop.

The Welsh helicopter charity has a network of shops across Wales which raise vital donations, and the charity is in urgent need of volunteers to assist in its Bangor shop.

Every year Wales Air Ambulance needs to raise £6.5 million to fund its operations, with each of its lifesaving missions costing around £1,500, funded entirely by kind donations.

Lynne Garlick, Wales Air Ambulance Fundraising Manager, said: “As a charity, we rely on people kindly donating their time and funds to keep our four helicopters flying.

“By giving a couple of hours of your time to help in our shops, you can raise donations that will go on to save lives.”

The charity’s network of shops sells kindly donated pre-loved items, relying on volunteers to organise and assist in the running of the Wales Air Ambulance charity shop.

Volunteers in Wales Air Ambulance shop sort and sell donated items, working with the community of WAA volunteers to raise lifesaving donations.

“Our shops play a vital role in raising the funds needed to complete our operations, with each of the 240 missions we completed every month funded by the donations we receive.

“Each day of volunteering for Wales Air Ambulance is different.

“If you can spare an hour or so of your time every week, you can play a crucial part in helping our helicopter fly to the aid of the people of Wales in their hour of need.”
