Wales Air Ambulance is delighted to be one of three local charities that will benefit from funds raised by a leading partnership developer - Lovell.

The housing developer’s 29th annual charity golf day raised an incredible £12,600 for the Welsh charities.

The Cardiff event was held at Whitchurch Golf Club, near the developer’s regional head office, and saw 24 teams compete. Lovell employees, subcontractors, partners and consultants teed off in the morning, before taking part in a charity auction at the end of the day.

The successful auction was hosted by Sean Holley, Rugby Union coach and broadcaster, and consisted of prizes donated by Lovell clients and its supply chain.

Over the past 28 years, the Lovell golf day has raised more than £121,400 for charities across Wales.

As well as raising much-needed funds for the Wales Air Ambulance, this year’s chosen charities included Llamau and Signposted Cymru.

Wales Air Ambulance delivers advanced lifesaving medical care, and is the only air ambulance charity based in and dedicated to the people of Wales. The highly skilled crew onboard the charity helicopters and rapid response vehicles can carry out medical procedures that would usually only be available within a hospital setting.

Gemma Clissett, Regional Partnerships Director at Lovell, said: “We take a lot of pride in the work we do at Lovell to support our communities, and to raise £4,200 for each of these three charities is fantastic. Llamau, Signposted Cymru and Wales Air Ambulance are incredible charities that each provide an invaluable service to the people of Wales, and we are very proud to have supported them.

“All of us at Lovell would like to thank everyone who took part in this thoroughly enjoyable event and helped us to raise funds and awareness for each charity. Each year we look forward to our charity golf day, and we cannot wait to tee off for the 30th time in 2025.”

Laura Coyne, Wales Air Ambulance’s Community Fundraising Manager, said: “We are honoured to have been chosen by Lovell as a beneficiary of this year’s golf day. To everyone involved in the organising, and to those who participated in the event, we would like to say a huge thank you. Every year, we need to raise £11.2 million, and support like this helps to keep our helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road. This donation will make a lifesaving difference.”
