Volunteer for Wales Air Ambulance

Our volunteers are an integral part of the Wales Air Ambulance; they provide additional knowledge, skills and ongoing help that supports the Charity across our functions, whether attending fundraising events in the community, helping in our shops or acting as Trustees.

We would not be able to provide our lifesaving services without our volunteers and we trust that you will enjoy your time with us in whatever capacity that you can help with.

"Our volunteers are the backbone and the heart of our Charity, they help us to achieve our goals and they are fundamental in raising the funds which enable us to save lives across Wales.

We are proud to work with a diverse team of volunteers who bring a range of skills and experience and who support us to carry out our vital work.

We hope that you will find your time with us to be enjoyable and rewarding, and that you will feel part of our committed team."

It’s been the greatest health crisis in living memory.

Coronavirus has wreaked havoc not only on our health, and that of our loved ones, but it has affected businesses, put our health and social care workers under huge strain and separated families.

But it has also shone a light on the best in all of us.

Hundreds of thousands of us volunteered to help the NHS at the height of the coronavirus outbreak.

We delivered essentials, helped our neighbours, clapped our hero nurses and doctors and provided a listening ear to those in isolation.

So what happens now, as we adjust to the new normal?

Is there a way to harness the potential army of volunteers who feel there is much more to give – and more ways to help people?

Signing up to become a volunteer with Wales Air Ambulance could be your next step, or even your first foray into volunteering.

As our lives get ever more hectic it’s worth stopping to remember what we found most important during lockdown: the connection with our loved ones and being there at times of need.

We might have missed going to pubs and shops, but it was the cwtch from our dearest ones that was most acutely lacking.

We at Wales Air Ambulance make it our mission to be there for people when they most need it.

And it doesn’t take a huge input from you to make an enormous difference to those whose lives we save.

From helping out in our shops, to joining our teams at fund-raising events or taking on administrative tasks – there are plenty of options to choose from.

If you feel you no longer have time to participate as your life gets back to normal, contact us: we may have a vacancy that will exactly suit the amount of time you have to give.

If there is one thing that is certain in this uncertain world – there will always be lives that need saving.
