A two-week virtual Christmas fayre is taking place to raise much-needed funds for the Wales Air Ambulance Charity.

The event has been set up to support small businesses who would normally sell their handmade items at the yearly Christmas fayres, but due to the pandemic these events have been cancelled.

22 small businesses from across Wales have come together to raise funds for the lifesaving charity, whilst making Christmas shopping easier during these uncertain times for everyone.

The Christmas fayre, which will start on Saturday, 21 November and will run for two weeks (until 5 December), has already proved popular after someone already had a sale.

Katie Macro, whose own business is taking part, said: “I decided to organise a virtual Christmas fayre as lots of Christmas fayres this year have been cancelled which has impacted small businesses. Unlike others that are being run, I didn’t want to charge people and take the profit, but instead raise money for a charity that I hold very close to my heart.”

Some of the small businesses taking part include Katie Macro Creations, Heddfan from Narberth, Y Gegin Maldon, Hannah Bartlett Prints and Anna Davies Designs.

As well as selling items during the Christmas fayre, there is also a raffle taking place where people have an opportunity to win £240 worth of amazing prizes. The tickets are priced at £2 each with all proceeds going to the Wales Air Ambulance.

All items will be delivered by Christmas, so enjoy the winter nights, get cosy and do your Christmas shopping from the comfort of your own home.

You can visit the Christmas fayre via the public Facebook group Christmas Virtual Fayre - In Aid of Wales Air Ambulance.
