Wales Air Ambulance’s Bridgend shop is inviting members of the public to turn their rags to riches in a special valuation day event.

On Sunday, September 16, members of the public will be able to have their possessions valued by an antiques expert.

Popular TV antique valuer and auctioneer, Mark Stacey will be visiting the shop between 10am and 3pm offering expert valuations on anything from ornaments to jewellery.

Famous for appearing on Bargain Hunt, Flog It and Antiques Road trip, Mark is an expert antiques dealer and has worked at some of the top auction houses across the UK.

Wales Air Ambulance area retail manager, Donna Rogers said: “This is an exciting opportunity for people to pop down to our Bridgend shop and have their prized possessions valued by the ever-popular Mark Stacey. You never know, you maybe be sitting on a gold-mine?

“During the event, there will be a charge of £2 per item or £5 for three items to be valued. All proceeds raised on the day will be donated directly to the charity and help fund our lifesaving work.”

Wales Air Ambulance operates 17 charity shops across Wales which help directly fund lifesaving missions. The shops are supported by a team of volunteers who tirelessly share their spare time to stock the shelves and serve customers.

Wales Air Ambulance Bridgend Shop manager, Sandra John said: “We are always looking for volunteers to come and join us and would love to hear from anyone who is willing to spare us a few hours during the week to help out at the shop.”

Wales Air Ambulance not only has 17 shops across Wales but also provides a free collection service for pre-loved or unwanted items.

Donna added: “People wishing to make use of the free collection service or have an interest in volunteering should contact the Bridgend shop directly: 01656 649475
