After nominating the helicopter charity as their chosen captain’s charity, members at Hawarden Golf Club raised an impressive £1,000.

The fundraising efforts were made all that more unique by both the Men’s and Ladies captains choosing to raise money for WAA collectively.

Wales Air Ambulance Community Coordinator Debra Sima said: “We would like to extend our gratitude to all at the golf club for choosing to support us. Wales Air Ambulance relies solely on the support of the Welsh public to be able to carry out our lifesaving work. In 2019 we attended 109 missions in the Flintshire area alone, testimony to the fact that without the support of groups such as the Hawarden Golf Club, we wouldn’t be able to be there for people in their hour of need.”

The funds were raised throughout 2019 by various activities held at the golf club including competitions, evenings events and raffles.

Debra added: “We’re always grateful for any sum of money raised for our Charity. No matter the amount, every penny really does make a difference. The money raised by Hawarden Golf Club will help us to continue our lifesaving work right across Wales and ensure our four helicopters are kept flying 365 days a year.”
