A keen cyclist from Anglesey has raised over £500 for Wales Air Ambulance through completing a tour of the island.

Peter Linehan, a member of the Holyhead Cycle club lives in Llandyfrdog and completed the challenge in aid of the helicopter charity raising £550.

The Tour de Canol saw Peter ride 77 miles around the island taking the best of its views. Starting out at Newry beach the route passed through Trearddur Bay, Valley, Llanerchymedd, and Holyhead mountain.

Peter said: “It had been raining hard on the day of the cycle so I was very cold and wet throughout. I was lucky enough however, to have company from my friends at the cycle club.

“I was very happy to be able to support Wales Air Ambulance and completed the cycle with a recorded time of 8hrs, 46mins, 15secs”.

WAA Fundraising Manager Lynne Garlick said: “We would like to congratulate Peter on this achievement and thank him for supporting us. The money raised will help fund our lifesaving missions across Wales.”
