A cheque for £1,000 has been presented to the Wales Air Ambulance base in Caernarfon in memory of Gwersyllt resident Nigel Thomas.

In May this year Mr Thomas tragically lost his life following an accident. It was a specific wish of Nigel’s that any money raised in his memory would be donated to the Wales Air Ambulance.

Nigel’s sister, Wendy and family members visited the Caernarfon airbase to present the money raised in his memory which totaled £1,000.

Community co-ordinator Alwyn Jones said: “We are incredibly grateful to Nigel’s family for this donation at such a difficult time. It was my pleasure to welcome them to the airbase together with the crew.”

The family have been regular contributors to the Wales Air Ambulance and hope to continue supporting the helicopter charity in the future.
