Llanelli Nursery raises over £1,500 for WAA

A Llanelli Nursery has helped to fund lifesaving helicopter missions across Wales, by hosting a charity fundraiser.

The CaerFfair Nursery, Gorslas, held a car boot sale and Spring Fair in aid of Wales Air Ambulance, raising over £1,500 for the Welsh helicopter charity.

The car boot and Spring Fair in April raised donations for the charity, by hosting keep fit classes, a rugby tots match and selling items.

The nursery visited the Wales Air Ambulance airbase in Dafen in May, to present their donation of £1566 to the charity’s crew.

The Wales Air Ambulance charity relies on kind donations to fund its operations, needing to raise £6.5million to keep its four helicopters flying.

Wales Air Ambulance has completed over 26,000 missions since its launch in 2001, entirely funded by charitable donations.

Mark Stevens, Wales Air Ambulance Fundraising Manager, said: “Wales Air Ambulance is dedicated to serving people in Wales. An important part of our job is to run the Children’s Wales Air Ambulance. This is a specialist division of the charity because our youngest patients need a different range of treatments.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to the CaerFfair Nursery for their support, as their donation will help fund missions to come to the aid of children and adults across Wales.”
